Our story

At SV Land, we believe it is essential for our employees to feel energetic and engaged. With this initiative, SV Land aimed to contribute to a good cause while simultaneously promoting vitality and movement among employees. Walking, cycling, and running were accessible activities where employees could individually earn a sponsored amount.

Our goals

The fundraising campaign for Kika was born out of a desire to encourage movement among employees while also making a positive contribution to a charitable cause. Walking, cycling, and running were easy-to-access activities, where employees could individually raise a sponsored amount per kilometer walked. By involving employees in a common goal, we fostered connection and motivation to stay active.

NewU in action – Employee experiences

This initiative was more than just a challenge in the NewU app; we wanted to make it bigger, and we succeeded. Employees were encouraged to find their own ways to raise money, and the results were inspiring. From collecting deposit bottles to handing out flyers and even baking mini pancakes in a self-built stand, everyone contributed. As the weeks went by, enthusiasm grew, and more and more people joined in. The initiative truly came to life within the organization and brought employees closer together. The final result was an impressive €2,048.10 donated to Kika!

Our favorite challenges

  • Take a walk
  • Go for a run
  • Go on a bike ride

The Collaboration

“Shared goals bring employees together, even when they are not physically in the same place.”

The app is extremely user-friendly and flexible, especially with all the recent updates. Everything is now very clear and easily accessible. The leaderboard provided a great overview of how much each employee had raised, making it easier to stay engaged.

For an organization where employees work in different locations, it was a great way to foster connection. Additionally, the entire NewU team is incredibly friendly and helpful.

Marjolein's advice

What I would advise HR managers:

"Set clear goals and boundaries for your initiative upfront. For us, it worked really well to say: ‘We will walk, cycle, and run, and for every kilometer, we will donate an amount.’ Employees understood what was expected of them, and that was highly motivating.

Additionally, I would also suggest allowing room for individual input. By giving employees this space, they took the initiative to collect deposit bottles to increase the donation amount.

I strongly recommend making the progress updates and final results as visible as possible. When employees can see the real-time progress, it’s incredibly motivating.

And finally: make it fun and engaging, because that’s what truly matters in the end."
